Nanjing traditions, at home in Singapore
Founded in 1994 and in Singapore since 2016, Nanjing Impressions serves authentic Nanjing cuisine and authentic Huaiyang cuisine at Plaza Singapura, 68 Orchard Road, near Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
From signature duck dishes to handmade dim sum, our Chinese restaurant brings the flavours of Nanjing’s neighbourhood kitchens to Orchard Road. Gather over familiar favourites or discover a new taste of the city.
Our “No Pre-made” philosophy puts traditional handcraft and cooking to order at the heart of every meal. We preserve old Nanjing flavours with the care and warmth of a shared table.
Discover the story behind the name
At the brand’s beginning, the founder collected old signboards from local communities. These “pai” inspired the name Dapaidang. Lanterns, timber windows and traditional furnishings bring the memories of old Nanjing streets into the dining room.
Singapore became our first overseas market in 2016. Direct operation brought our recipes and craft to a new home, while our local team learned from the guests around each table. Through family workshops and cultural exchanges, we also share the traditions behind the food.

Roasted fresh in store with a maltose glaze, served with a distinctive sauce simmered from duck bones, roasting juices and spices.
Nanjing Signature Salted Duck
In Nanjing, the “Duck Capital”, salted duck is a local classic. Patient preparation through traditional stages brings out the duck’s natural savoury flavour.
Huadiao Wine Chilled Drunken Crayfish
Created by the brand in 2006. Live crayfish steep for eight hours in a Huadiao wine marinade, then are served chilled. Limited daily.
Celestial Roast Duck Dumpling
Our original dim sum combines roast duck and pork, wrapped by hand and steamed to order, bringing Nanjing’s duck tradition into one basket.
Traditional Poached Lion’s Head Meatball
Hand-cut pork, shaped by hand and gently simmered for around four hours, creates a tender meatball in a clear, delicate broth.
